Personal Care Home
Since 1972, the Russell and District Personal Care Home has provided long term care services for up to forty residents on a 24 hour a day basis.
Services include: medical and nursing care, activities, meals, laundry and housekeeping. The Care Home also provides:
* Monitoring for an emergency response system
* Handi-Van for residents of the Care Home and on a limited basis for other area residents
* The Care Home also operates an Adult Day Care program four days a week and residents of both the Home and the community have access to a visiting gerontologist.
The Care Home uses the expertise of a consulting geriatrician, occupational therapist, continuing care and other local health professionals, including mental health services, physiotherapy, physicians, dentists and pharmacists. Four physicians are available at the Personal Care Home as well as 15 full-time, part-time and casual nurses.
