Russell & District Health Centre


The Russell & District Health Centre, built in 1970, is rated at 38 beds and serves the Town of Russell, Village of Binscarth and five surrounding municipalities. Services are provided to Waywayseecappo Indian Reservation and to nearby Saskatchewan residents. 

The Russell & District Health Centre is staffed with 5 physicians and 30 full-time, part-time and casual nurses.
 
Services Include:

* Internal medicine
* Family Medicine
* Non-specialized pediatrics
* Pre-natal and post-natal care
* Non-specialized orthopedics
* Minor surgery
* Chemotherapy program
* Manitoba telehealth program

Services provided on a part time basis:

* Ultrasound - 1.5 days a week
* Visiting dietitian - every two weeks
* Diabetes education - bi-weekly clinics

Other non-physician services are:

* Continuing care
* Public health as well as mental health
* Child and family services
* Social services
* Meals on wheels
* Addictions Foundation of Manitoba

Public health programs available include immunization, pre-natal classes, and family planning and baby clinic.
