The Park West School Division provides excellent primary and secondary educational facilities.

Russell is serviced by Major Pratt School, a kindergarten to Senior 4 school, while neighbouring communities of Binscarth and Inglis offer kindergarten to Grade 8.

The school year begins in early September, and for high-school students the second term begins in late January.

The area is located in close proximity to Ecole Saint-Lazare, a French language kindergarten to Senior 4 school.

Post-secondary Education and Adult Training
Assiniboine Community College’s Parkland Southwest Regional Centre offers full-time college certificate programs and continuing education programs.

Day Care

Both private and public subsidized day-care facilities are available in Russell along with Nursery school programs in Russell, Binscarth and Inglis.

Russell's Lots-A-Tots is a licensed 40 space centre, accepting children ages 3 months-5 years. The centre also operates a Nursery school program from September to June and offers care for school age children ages 6 to 12 years. The daycare building is attached to Major Pratt School , so it allows for easy access. The centre is open from 7:30AM to 6:15 PM, Monday to Friday. Provincial subsidy is available to those who qualify. 

Binscarth and Inglis both offer nursery school programs from September to June on a 1/2 day per week basis. Binscarth Nursery School is located in the United Church Basement and Inglis Nursery School is located in Inglis School.
