Best Community to Raise a Family
At the southern gateway to Asessippi Parkland,
Binscarth's pride of place and local spirit are hallmarks of the residents who have created an attractive community recognized by Canadian Living Magazine as the best community in Canada to raise a family and a winner in the 2004 Canadian Communities in Bloom competition.
With a population of 445, Binscarth is located on the Yellowhead Highway just 320 km northwest of Winnipeg and 15 km from the Saskatchewan border. Although a thriving farming community, it is also home to many employees of three potash mines in Saskatchewan.
Binscarth is home to the largest outdoor pool on the Yellowhead Highway. Facilities include supervised swimming, camping, hiking, miniature golfing, and a playground. Another popular feature in Binscarth is the Binscarth and District Gordon Orr Museum. The museum consists of a collection of personal artifacts, relating to the area's history, that Gordon Orr spent a lifetime collecting.
Binscarth is well known for its sense of community, volunteerism and the ability to do a first class job of any project they care to tackle. We work well together to get things done and all of the organizations are self-sufficient
