Angusville's proud Ukrainian heritage is evident in the onion domes of the Ivan Franco Ukrainian Peoples Hall which has been designated a provincial heritage site.
The RM of Silver Creek maintains a strong agricultural tradition along and offers access to natural and recreational resources at Riding Mountain National Park and Silver Beach on its northern boundary.
More About the Area
The RM of Silver Creek, situated in western Manitoba lies adjacent to the RM of Russell on the west and borders Riding Mountain National Park to the North, with Highway #45 running through it. The total population of the RM of Silver Creek is 532 with the Village of Angusville as the largest community within the RM.
The RM is a farming community with production in grain, cattle, equine ranching, bison and a u-pick saskatoon berry farm.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreation activities including cross-country skiing on the Moose Lake Trail, fishing and boating at Silver Beach, golfing at the Russell Golf Club, or a hike down the Trans Canada Trail. Backcountry access into Riding Mountain National Park is a short distance away. Free unserviced camping is available in Angusville right along the Trans-Canada Trail.
The Village of Angusville has an arena for hockey, figure skating, broomball and community functions. Churches of the Catholic and Orthodox faith are also found in the village along with a Hall that represents some of the history of the community.
